If you noticed a tiny difference in the spelling of my last name:

This change isn’t a deliberate choice, reinvention, or identity crisis!

The reason is actually funny… Basically, a p*rn star took my name! And she became too popular. 😆

Why it's a problem:

  • If you search for me online, you’ll see some very naughty things in search results. 🙈 And we know that content tends to live on the Internet forever.

  • Folks looking for the other Julia constantly end up on my website, and are gravely disappointed by the amount of clothes I'm wearing. 😅 (And they bring the kind of energy I don’t want to welcome.)

It's not great when your name is associated with a shady industry in the mind of Google. The simplest solution I found was to just drop the anglicized version of my name that I’ve been using professionally (North), and fall back on the original spelling.

It’s silly to spend time on a meaningless change of two letters, but the whole story is so hilarious I'm not even mad.

That's all there is to it! 😘
