Religion vs. New Age | PART 3 | Akashic Guide speaks: difference between the auras of New Agers and religious seekers, power of symbols of faith, and what is God
This is Part 3 of the mini-series.
Read Part 1 | Read Part 2
If you've read the beginning of this mini-series, you might remember how a personal discovery involving religion and spiritual protection prompted me to embark on a little research journey. However, even after experimenting on myself and learning about other people's experiences, a lot of questions remained unanswered in my mind.
Why is it that followers of religion appear to have some extra spiritual protection, especially when they wear a symbol of their faith? Is there something different about their energy field compared to us, New Agers?
Are they connected to some non-physical entity or collective that we aren't?
And what exactly is that fatherly God that many worship and have a personal relationship with?
I decided to take these questions to a non-physical Being who isn't bound by our human limitations of perception and belief system. For this, I once again enlisted the help of my fellow practitioner and medium Heather Stubbs and her special Spirit Guide named Mogur. (About Heather)
Mogur has access to ancient knowledge of star systems and the energetic records of both Earth and other planets, and he works with Heather as her galactic Akashic Guide. Often, non-physical Beings present to us a certain physical form or “character” that we humans can recognize and relate to. Mogur chooses to present himself as a Neanderthal Shaman; you can visualize him as a wise elderly man who walks slowly with a limp and doesn't see well with his regular eyes — think of the shaman from the book The Clan of The Cave Bear.
Mogur doesn't normally use words to speak — he shares images and concepts telepathically — so we've got to admire Heather's ability to translate his messages into a form that we can all understand!
The following information is what Mogur the Guide transmitted to us through Heather. I prepared the questions; Heather channeled the Guide's responses and described for us the visuals she was receiving; I then transcribed this exchange and edited the responses and narration to make them easier for the reader to follow. At the end, there's also a beautiful story offered by Mogur to help us further understand the role of religion.
A lot of what came through in response to our questions was new to me — I hope you enjoy these insights as much as I did!
One word of caution: no channeled information should be taken as absolute truth — everything comes from a Being with its unique perspective and is channeled through a human with their own filters and conceptual framework. Therefore, not everything you read may apply in your unique reality.
The following information is presented as it was transmitted to us, without any judgment or claims about its truth or accuracy. I encourage you to trust your own inner knowing and take from it what resonates.
As Mogur the Guide steps forward and asks for our inquiry, Heather presents our first question.
We are interested in the differences that can be observed on an energy and spirit level between two types of people: one that follows an organized religion and one that engages in eclectic freestyle spirituality based on New Age beliefs and practices — a "New Ager" for short.
For the former, we can use examples of Christianity, which is a monotheistic religion, as well as Buddhism, which is a traditional non-theistic spiritual path (technically not a religion, but often classified as such).
We suggest that Mogur pick a couple of real people from each "category" in order to observe and compare.
Our first specific question to him is: How does the energy field (aura) of a Christian or Buddhist differ from that of a New Ager who doesn't follow any religion?
Heather observes the Guide going into the Earth's Akashic Records, and he starts showing her images of how he perceives humans that practice a religion, Christianity being the first example.
In this image, religious people appear to be part of a "collective sphere", and the threads of their belief systems are seen intertwining through the collective consciousness.
He then shows his perception of Buddhists, and it's similar to the description above.
Mogur points out that even in people who don't fully relate to their religion, there are still "threads" or "cords" that attach to the belief system of the religion.
He then proceeds to zoom in on someone who appears to be a preacher, and points out: interwoven into the DNA is the process of seeking, the process of reaching for something greater than the self.
Now Mogur is going back in time through Earth's history — to the Neanderthal period, when he lived as a shaman.
He talks about how belief systems were passed down from generation to generation through this particular lineage of shamans. It's like a deep internal knowing. He shows us the chakra system of a person in this lineage of seers: the grounded root, the engaged throat, third eye, and crown...
Then he moves us forward in time to what looks like ancient Greece or Rome.
The belief system is again presented as a sphere. However, with this one, the linkage of the belief system to the mind is more ingrained. The beliefs here include not only worshiping the gods, but also worshiping the priests that hold power. The Guide calls it a "distortion", and he shows it as a distortion in the balance between the heart, throat, and third eye.
Mogur moves us forward once more — to the present time.
He shows the collective sphere again, which is connected into what looks like a thought form. He says that all individuals will appear different, as their innate connectedness with the belief system is individuated.
One person may have a sphere around them that's shining and glowing — a beautiful protective layer. This is their religion, maybe Christianity.
[Editor’s comment: And there it is! Mogur confirms my suspicion that there’s something on the energy level that gives religious seekers extra spiritual protection.]
For some people, that sphere is very bright and makes the heart glow. For others, it's more like a layer that needs to be peeled back, and some of the heavier belief systems need to be released.
We ask what a New Ager looks like in comparison.
Mogur says: on the New Ager, we don't see this protective layer, nor the distortion layer of the belief systems connected to some of these traditions. But again, all people are different, individuated pieces of consciousness.
He also mentions that the chakra system of a person will vibrate according to the balancing of the life experiences.
Mogur has our three spiritual seekers — the Christian, the Buddhist, and the New Ager — arranged before him, with the two religious followers on one side and the New Ager on the other.
He points out that in all these types of individuals there is a protective layer of Archangels, ancestors, and guides.
He's looking at the connection to unity consciousness. Using the example of the Christian, Mogur says: often people who have that religious layer and are part of the religious sphere see unity consciousness as something outside of themselves. [Editor's comment: He is likely referring to the concept of God in theistic religions.]
In contrast to that, the Buddhist's understanding is more of the internal self being realized.
Then, as he turns his attention to the New Ager, the Guide shows us a view of the chakra system being in flux. He shows how the energy field of the New Ager expands, but also contracts quite tightly, then expands out a little further, then contracts again. It's almost like breathing, but of information: some information is fully accepted, learned, and realized, while other information causes contraction.
He points back at the Christian and the Buddhist: they appear to have a more stable energy field, but it's also rather static — it doesn't expand the way the New Ager's energy does.
Heather asks our next question: How do the spiritual structures of a Christian or Buddhist differ from that of a New Ager? Is there an extra energetic connection to any spiritual Being, collective, Egregore, etc?
Mogur shows us an ancestral lineage and explains that some belief systems have been passed down through the lineage. Some of the beliefs have been recognized in certain lifetimes, but not others.
He brings up the notion of Free Will and shows us a pre-incarnative "classroom", where belief structures are being chosen for a particular upcoming life; he points out how oftentimes we use these belief structures as tools to teach us about unity versus separation.
We’ve asked about connections to spiritual Beings — Mogur shows those as layers of frequencies which we're able to access within the calling, when we're asking for assistance. He shows the different Beings that can come forward.
One of them is Jesus. He is shown as very strong, fourth-density, and as such, connected to every human on Earth. It's the same with the Buddha — he appears connected to every individuated frequency (human) on Earth. Once the heart is open and the mind is turned towards, these higher consciousnesses can be called upon, tapped into, and information and guidance coming from them can be received.
Mogur brings up the Archangels, saying that these Beings and their frequencies can often come as archetypes. And these archetypal frequencies can be realized or manifested in the human. Some archetypal frequencies will be stronger than others depending on the time of birth. When one chooses to incarnate under their Sun sign, there will be stronger connections with the Archangel that corresponds with that zodiac sign — Michael, Uriel, Gabriel...
[Editor's comment: Here's an article I found online that lists the corresponding Archangel for each zodiac sign. While this correlation seems to be common, alternative pairings also exist.]
The Guide puts this in perspective for us: All is one. These higher Beings are all fractals of the One. They're all pieces that can be recognized, but when one chooses to incarnate, there is a thread, a line to that specific Archangel.
Our next question is: When a person is wearing a symbol of faith around their neck, let's say the Christian Cross or the Buddhist vajra symbol, how does that affect the energy field of the human? Does that symbol communicate any message to non-physical observers?
Mogur's immediate answer is yes.
Such symbols are metaphors of energetic frequencies, he says. They are very powerful. And, when recognized as such, symbols can be used as a form of protection, or as a way to receive more divine communication, or to transmit and receive information.
The Guide is showing us the Eye of Horus. He says that symbology is a structure reflecting our human metaphors, and humans can give these symbols more power.
Now Mogur is showing us the power of the Cross. Then the power of the Metatron's Cube, and how these two structures vibrate differently, and how their uses and intentions are realized.
We ask our next question. There is research data and anecdotal evidence suggesting that wearing the Cross or other symbol of faith offers greater protection against evil forces. Is this true? If so, how does that work? Wild guess, but do we etherically appear to the spirit world as "claimed" when we wear a symbol of faith, and therefore dark Beings don't attempt to get us under their influence?
Mogur talks about the resonance of a person with a symbol. The symbol itself has resonance, and how much the person resonates with the symbol lends itself to the protective effect.
He points out how the Christian Cross almost looks like a person, with the two lines intersecting at the heart center. So this particular symbol resonates with the heart frequency and illuminates, expands, and encourages protection.
He also shows us instances where the Cross had been used in a negative manner or to give a false sense of protection. Negative clergy are seen using faith and the Cross as a means to an end — to incite fear and control, and also seen using the symbol in a negative way for people influenced by dark entities.
Mogur shows Heather a few other symbols: the Ankh, the third eye... He shows them vibrating at different frequencies: some are thin and crisp, others thick and dense. It's almost as if sounds are being emitted from these symbols.
Interestingly, he then sets the Earth's Akashic Records aside and moves on to a different planetary system. He's going back to "the beginning" — to the Lyra star system.
The symbols we're shown here serve as insignia representing clans, and the Beings here worship these symbols. Some contain images of the Sun and the Moons, or of the mountains, which hold the power of nature. One symbol looks like a mountain: there's a triangle and a circle that surrounds the top of that triangle/mountain.
Mogur says that such symbols designating clans is something that was honored and was the subject of worship.
He then comes back to the Earth Records and is showing us an image of what looks like an experiment.
In a room, there's a person wearing the Christian Cross, another one without the Cross, and there's a negative entity (a dark spirit that can attack or attach to humans).
The Cross gives its wearer something external which feels like it's creating a form of protection (against the entity in this case).
Mogur clarifies: all protection is internal, there is no external, but to feel that something outside the self is assisting in protection is part of human nature.
Now he's showing the Metatron's Cube and how it differs from the Cross. The Cross bears this religious connotation; Mogur brings up the lessons of forgiveness. On the other hand, the Cube symbol is dynamic, multifaceted, and not only protects the fractal, but also sterilizes the environment and transmutes negative energy.
The Cube looks more like a crystallized structure... the Cross is thin and tinny, while the image of the Cube is resonating with more colors and more vibrancy — it's a "thicker" frequency.
Heather presents our next question. There is anecdotal evidence that just sincerely practicing a religion offers spiritual protection that eclectic modern spirituality doesn't. Is this true? If yes, why? We ask Mogur not to consider those rare New Agers who are extremely skilled in psychic protection.
Mogur starts talking about where the fractal (the human) is on a timeline. If someone has been sincerely practicing a religion, they're truly devoted. This is similar to Bhakti Yoga (a type of spiritual path in Hinduism based on devotion), which is most like a reflection in the individual self of the unity of all that is, of infinite intelligence being our true nature.
As for the part where eclectic modern spirituality doesn't offer as much spiritual protection, the Guide sees that as: some people are still seeking outside the self and have yet to turn inward. Those that have turned inward do connect with that light, which is the same light that those sincerely practicing religion connect to.
When it comes to dark spirits and entities that we want protection from, Mogur talks about life lessons, and how oftentimes these negative spirits are in effect being used as a catalyst — to help us grow, to show us where our weaknesses are. Unfortunately, they tend to exacerbate the weaknesses and can often do more harm before their influence has a chance to serve as a catalyst.
We ask our next question: When we're plugged into a spiritual lineage that's been present on Earth for many centuries, with all the saints, sages, masters, and teachers that contributed to it, are we in a way plugged into a powerful anchored-to-Earth collective energetic presence that acts as a source of energy and protection for us?
Yes, says Mogur.
Do the sages and lineage holders, now in spirit form, watch over us?
Yes. Mogur shows us part of the ritual that Heather herself does prior to entering a state where she can request information from the Akashic Records or work with Guides. That ritual is the chanting of Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo, which calls forward the spiritual line of teachers who came before us, presenting as a golden chain that forms a sphere around a person who chants this mantra.
Mogur explains: the sounds of that particular chant hold the vibrations that call forward those of higher density who have also chanted these vibrations. That's one example.
He talks about the roots of mind, which is where we see individual biases, and which can give us a feeling of separation. There can be cultural biases, but for those in certain lineages, they're all under what looks like a big bubble. The bubbles all intertwine and are all connected. So we are part of the lineage together with the sages — just fractalized into physicality.
If a New Ager sincerely follows a step-by-step spiritual development path created by a modern New Age or non-dual teacher, can that offer the same benefits of spiritual protection and energetic support as a traditional religion?
Yes. Mogur makes the point that oftentimes religions can separate us. They can make us feel separate or disconnected, or one religion may feel that its teachings are “correct” and “true” or greater than others.
Ultimately, the purpose of these religions is all the same: they are all working to direct people back to unity consciousness. It's the purpose of humanity to transcend separateness and to recognize that while there is individuality, we're all connected, and all is one.
Can a conscious connection with one's off-planet soul group and following the spiritual direction of one's Higher Self or off-planet self offer the same benefits of spiritual protection and energetic support?
[Editor’s comment: This question is based on the notion that many of us are “Starseeds”: souls whose true “home” is in another star system and who are temporarily incarnated as humans on Earth. Some Starseeds develop an ability to communicate with Beings from their soul group or with their own parallel existence as a Star Being, which can at times function like the Higher Self.]
The answer here is yes. The Guide talks about comprehension and understanding of the Higher Self.
The Higher Self is an upper sixth-density version of the self, which watches over us. This can be seen as a concept, and again, much like the understanding of the deities, once it is realized that this is the true nature of the self, and we're just fractalized-down images of the Higher Self, this again connects us back into unity consciousness, where there is no separation.
All is one, which is the biggest, the most recognized form of understanding the self, and that can be seen as psychic protection.
When someone becomes a sincere practitioner of a religion, does that form any kind of agreement or covenant between this person and something else, such as God, soul, collective, sages and saints? If yes, what does each party promise?
The Guide says: these are pre-incarnative choices being realized. So for somebody who maybe grew up in the Christian faith, but chooses to practice Judaism, the ability to connect with that particular "thought form" was predetermined prior to incarnating, and is now used as a tool to help realize and understand the self and the lineage of not only oneself, but also the soul family.
He says we're not really making a promise — it's more of a recognition of what had been predetermined.
Are there any negative consequences of being "plugged into" a religion?
Yes, he says, this is often seen as a layer of separation. Religion has been used as a form or method of control for many, many existences. Transcending that is like transcending a belief system that is no longer serving.
Is the Christian/Muslim/Hebrew God the same as what we call the "Divine Source" or "Universal Consciousness"?
Mogur says: It's all universal consciousness, these concepts of God are aspects, and we're using different labels as forms of identification, of separateness.
So is "God" a high-level fractal or aspect of the Divine Source? Or is it perhaps an Egregore?
Again, Mogur is showing an image of a pyramid, where we have Source at the top, and it is fractalized down into aspects.
Is God a relatable "interface" to the Divine Source that anthropomorphizes Source and gives us a human-friendly protocol to interact with it?
Yes, says Mogur. It's where religions connect to the Divine Source.
He's showing an image of what looks like a mirror ball and says: some have tried to make it relatable, and clearly what has been done is the personification of God/Source.
[Editor's comment: Here's one possible interpretation of the image of the mirror ball. As someone observes Source and tries to relate to it, they see a reflection of themselves and their reality in that facet of the "mirror ball", so they end up describing Source using familiar attributes from their human reality, thus personifying it.]
Mogur continues: all is vibration, and once it's understood that there is no separation, there's no longer a need to personify or anthropomorphize.
Is there anything else that would be beneficial for us to know about this topic?
He talks about the harmonization of the mind, the body, and the spirit. "The Holy Trinity". The breath, the body, the awareness. This is what awakens from the dream state — a recognition that physicality is a dream. Once there's recognition that physicality is a dream, we can start to explore these metaphors, such as religion.
One again, he's showing us the roots of mind and how all of these spiritual traditions have been pre-incarnatively chosen. He shows them as bubbles that need to be transcended.
He tells us to recognize that all is one. Unity is the truth, and the rest is created to teach and help the self grow.
After answering our questions, Mogur was eager to share with us the following story, likely as a metaphor for how religion has served humanity's evolution. However, we feel that this tale holds several layers of meaning, so you might take away something different from it!
Clarification: as the Guide tells the story, you'll notice he uses "we" to refer to himself. Non-physical Beings sometimes use "we" because they perceive themselves not as individuals, but as a collective or unified presence. And when he says "you", he refers to us, human beings, collectively.
The Tale of the Trees
Today we'd like to offer you an image of a second-density species that also worshipped, and used worship as a form of evolution.
This species comes from a planetary system known as Athenia, and it resembles what you might perceive as tall evergreen trees.
The "orb", or planet, on which these lifeforms existed was slightly farther from its star than the Earth is from the Sun today. The climate was Arctic in nature at first, but eventually evolved into a period when plant life began to expand.
This plant life, which started from moss and grasses, eventually evolved, spread, and multiplied to form what you would call "forests". These forests were filled with a variety of trees and shrubs.
As these lifeforms evolved over time, a form of "plant communication" began. Much of the communication took place beneath the ground, within the root system. This communication was perceived as vibrational, like pulsing.
One particular species of "tree" began to grow and radiate at an accelerated rate, thereby increasing in density, or quantity of information held within its light.
During a particular cycle of the planet's rotation, there was an event in which bursts of energy from that planet's "Sun" began to emerge. This caused a change in the network of plant communication.
The trees knew that, in order to survive, they had to adapt to these solar flares, and so they started what you might call "chanting" or "singing" whenever the flares occurred. This helped harmonize the plants and led to an increase in information exchange during the solar bursts.
The trees began to "worship" these flares.
There came a point when these bursts of solar energy suddenly stopped.
Generations of trees had grown up worshipping the flares. When the flares did not return, there was a sense of "fear" among the trees — fear that they would no longer be able to sing the songs of the flares.
Many of the old-growth trees died, but the younger generations didn't hold this fear. They had grown up with the songs of the flares and recognized that they could still sing these songs even after the flares had ceased. This recognition of harmony was remembered, and the younger trees began holding an ever-increasing amount of light.
Why do we tell you this story?
All planetary systems and their species need a catalyst to grow. When one shifts their perspective from the external to the internal, growth can be exponential. It is the same with human religion. All religion is an external way of seeking what is known within.
In your third-density reality (read: illusion), the catalyst of truth is brought into the equation, as this form of seeking is felt within the heart. This process is of fourth density, where humanity has taken a step — be it ever so small — into the frequency of Love.
This is your purpose: to transcend the illusion of separation and move towards an integrated understanding of Unity.
